Vanquish is an advanced, non-surgical, no-touch fat removal technique that uses “focused field radiofrequency” energy technology to destroy fat cells and slim your waistline or other areas without surgery, anesthesia, or incisions. It is a body contouring deep-tissue heating method that tightens skin, reduces wrinkles on the body, and may minimally decrease the appearance of cellulite without causing extreme discomfort.
Vanquish is FDA-approved for deep tissue heating which can result in fat reduction on the abdomen, flanks, back, thighs, arms, and legs.
Most people see a visible difference within 2-4 weeks after the first treatment. The end result varies from person to person, but muffin tops are usually reduced or eliminated with a loss of up to 2-3 inches from around the waist and/or belly.
Who Needs Vanquish Fat Removal?
The Vanquish system is best for those whose weight is reasonable for their height and who have unwanted fat that has been resistant to diet and exercise, but not enough fat to warrant liposuction. Vanquish is recommended for patients over the age of 21 who desire aesthetic body treatment without the cost and recovery required of surgery. It is most effective for those who are not much more than 20 pounds overweight with stubborn excess fat and/or cellulite around the midsection.
Vanquish is not a replacement for weight loss or gastric bypass surgery. Liposuction will still remove more fat than any non-surgical method.
Your Vanquish Consultation
During your consultation, Dr. Singer will discuss with you the full range of body contouring and skin tightening procedures available at our center, including liposuction. He will examine you and make a recommendation as to the best procedure to provide you with your desired outcome.
He will, of course, tell you all about the Vanquish procedure, including, for example, that you need to be well-hydrated before, during, and for two days after your treatment. The water speeds the metabolic process of breaking down fat and filtering your body of excess fluid and toxins.
The Vanquish Procedure
There is a warming/deep heating sensation with Vanquish, but the procedure is virtually pain-free. The system precisely heats your skin with radiofrequency to 100 degrees F, and the underlying fat to 120 F. The fat cells then rupture from the heat, and the dead fat cells are removed by your immune system.
Vanquish requires no incisions and no anesthesia. Generally, a series of 4-6 treatments lasting 30-60 minutes each will be required to achieve the desired result. The number of treatments will depend on your existing cosmetic concerns and the goals you want to achieve.
Treatments are typically spaced in 1-2-week intervals. You may start to see some body contouring and skin tightening results after just 3-4 Vanquish treatments, but in most cases, optimal results will be achieved only after the fourth to sixth treatment.
The results should remain as long as you do not gain weight, so maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including regular exercise and a reasonable diet are important for keeping your new look.
Recovery from Vanquish
Since there is no downtime or special care required once you leave the office, you can carry on with the rest of your day’s activities immediately following treatment. You might experience some mild redness, warmth, and tenderness after Vanquish, however, which usually resolves within a few hours. The recovery time is definitely shorter than after liposuction and even after other non-surgical fat reduction technologies.
